- The GiveKuwait contest based Facebook App brought substantial results in terms of invoking a spirit of patriotism amongst the Kuwaiti people. Additionally, it served as a support medium to the official Wataniya website.
- Objective
- Wataniya Telecom is Kuwait's leading cellular service carrier. The company required an event based contest website and Facebook App. for the purpose of inspiring a sense of patriotism among Kuwaiti citizens to celebrate their upcoming National Day.
- Strategy & Execution
- As an event based competition, the GiveKuwait contest consisted of four major labels; How it Works, Judges, Winners and Gallery. 'How it Works' guides the user to the audio, video and photo contest; the 'Judges' section gives an overview of who will be judging your submissions and a brief portfolio of their professional accomplishments; 'Winners' are announced after all submissions are completed and the 'Gallery' serves as a showcase for a collection of photographs from different contestants. A similar Approach was adopted for the GiveKuwait Facebook App.
- Results
- The campaign was an instant success with over 30,000 people participating in various categories over a period of 8 weeks. GiveKuwait experienced tremendous user traffic on its website and the Facebook App achieved similar success amongst its fans.
