OBJECTIVE
Fission Strategy is a US based organization specializing in online advocacy and marketing and has been helping organizations inspire social good through social media since 2003. Just last year, they approached Avenue Social with a special purpose – to create a Facebook app based on the United Nations’ cause of not only showing solidarity with people suffering from HIV but challenging the prejudice and stigma surrounding AIDS at the same time.
SOLUTION
Avenue Social took up the challenge and came up with a comprehensive and dynamic app, keeping the main aim of spreading awareness in mind. The ‘World Aids Day’ app we developed does it all from connecting people & sharing knowledge to helping supporters of the cause from all around the world to gather on a single platform for showing their awareness, support and concern for people living with AIDS.
The application features have been designed accordingly and include letting users add a red ribbon to their profile photos along with a personalized message, inviting friends over to join this noble cause, a twitter feed and a discussion forum, making maximum use of the power of this social networking site to spread the World AIDS Day message.
RESULT
With over 15000 supporters and growing, the World AIDS Day app made just the right impact with its simple yet powerful interface and features. This app proved to be yet another feather in Avenue Social’s cap! |
